We are thrilled to chat with one of our web designers from the Twenty Over Ten family, Logan Roush! He is a crucial member of our team and we continue to be amazed by the awesome website designs that he produces. As a busy web designer, he has a lot on his plate, so keep reading to find out more about Logan in our Meet the Team series!

To start, where are you from and where do you live now?

I am originally from the State College, PA area and currently live just outside of Washington, DC.

How did you get your start as a web designer? When did you realize this was what you wanted to do?

I’ve always been interested in computers, so when I went to college for Information Technology, I tried a few design courses. I enjoyed learning more and expanding on things such as graphic design as a creative outlet and applying that to my technical knowledge. Combine those two together and you get a Web Designer, and I love it!

When you aren’t working, what do you like to do for fun?

My pup Hanzo and I like to go for runs. He’s got the energy.

What is the best advice that anyone ever gave you when it comes to design?

“Go where the fear is” —  It’s really easy to get comfortable; whether that be a place, a design style, or a life choice. And comfort isn’t a bad thing, but ignoring risks that I could’ve taken to help propel myself as a person or strengthen my design, is often something I’d come to regret.

What is a typical day like for you at work?

Coffee. Had to get that in there first since nothing can begin without that! Then, I try to tame the beast that is my email. After that, I may meet with clients, design and build advisor sites, or research new design trends. Any free time in between is probably just me chasing Hanzo around to get back whatever he found to eat that’s not food.

What was the best concert that you ever attended?

One of my favorite concerts was being able to see Jungle in Oakland, CA. They have a vibe that can always put you in a good mood.

Check them out!

If you had a free plane ticket and could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?

I would head to Milford Sound’s in New Zealand. Kayaking on the ocean alongside the New Zealand mountains sounds amazing!

What is your favorite part of your job?

Two days are never the same. We have the privilege to work with such a diverse group of clients who allow us to customize their approach with their site, so we’re always able to do something new each day. And I think that’s an amazing quality we get to have here.

What is your favorite trip that you have ever taken?

Even though it’s kinda become an annual thing for me at this point, I love visiting San Francisco, CA. There is a ton of history there and the national parks are gorgeous. (Like have you seen Muir Woods?) Plus, as a bit of a nerd, visiting the campuses of Apple, Google, Intel, and others; is a lot of fun! It could also be that my favorite coffee shop is in San Jose; who knows!

What is your favorite type of food, and what is the best meal that you have ever eaten?

Okay. Real talk. I’m a pretty picky eater 😬, like a burger and fries kind of guy, you know? Although, one of the best meals I’ve eaten was in Maine at this place called the Thistle Inn and Restaurant. I got this marinated flank steak that I’m pretty sure made me tear up a little.
