At Twenty Over Ten, we want you to have the chance to get to know the people you’re working with through our Meet the Team blog series. All of our team members are an essential and awesome addition to the company, so we love getting to know a little more about them!
Recently we chatted with our new web designer, Jared Brown. At Twenty Over Ten, Jared is a part of our design team and works directly with clients to bring their website dreams to life. For more information on our design services, click here!
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but I moved a couple of times growing up. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana now, and I have for 10 years!
If you were given a free plane ticket, where would you go and why?
I would go to Paros, Greece. I have spent about 2 months on the island of Paros as a drone pilot and project lead while making documentary films over the last couple of years, and I would love the opportunity to go back and visit some of the friends that I made during my time there.
If you could choose one super power, what would it be?
10/10 I would want to fly (assuming it’s like Superman type flight, and not like Hancock type flight). Skip traffic, gas, airfare, save hours of time every week? Feels like a win.
What is the best gift you’ve ever received?
The best gift I have ever received is my Australian Walker hat. Imagine Indiana Jones’ hat, but cooler.
What’s your go-to breakfast?
I usually just drink coffee, but if I eat, it’s probably a buttered croissant.
What ice cream best describes your personality?
Vanilla – simple, but I’d like to think versatile. And while I’d like to be fancier than I am, at the end of the day, I’m just kind of around.
What are your passions outside of work?
Outside of work, I have a lot of passions. My wife and I spend way too much time with our dog, Koda – dog park, walks, runs, etc. I also get really into (admittedly like way too into) my espresso, and ‘dialing in’ the perfect shot. I buy whole leaf tobacco and hand roll my own cigars, and age and cure them. I also get weirdly into that. I fly my drone, take pictures, and I code A LOT outside of work. I probably get into code more than anything in my free time.
What has been your favorite part of working at Twenty Over Ten so far?
My favorite part of working at Twenty Over Ten has been the people I get to work with. Everyone is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and always willing to help out. Our leadership is always present, available, and express their care a gratitude for the work that we all do – and that goes a long way.
