We are so excited to welcome the newest member to the Twenty Over Ten family! Our Meet the Team series showcases the awesome people that make doing our work so enjoyable. There are so many moving parts to the work that we do developing websites, and the reason that we are able to make it all work is thanks to our great team members!
Recently, we had the opportunity to catch up with a part of our client support team, Kristin McLaughlin. As part of the Twenty Over Ten team, Kristin is on the front lines working with our customers on a daily basis. The chances are if you submit a support ticket or schedule a DIY consultation, she’ll likely be helping you out!
Where are you from originally, and where do you currently live?
I’ve moved very frequently so it’s hard to pick where I’d say I’m from, but if we go by the longest I’ve ever lived in a single place – that’d be New Jersey (6 years). Right now I live in Washington, D.C.
So far, what’s been your favorite thing about working at Twenty Over Ten?
I love the opportunities that I’ve had to learn to code. My education and career up to this point was in mental health, so this has been a big change for me. Working here has been great for transitioning into this new field.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, and biscuits all prepared dairy-free.
Do you have any pets?
I’m the stepmom to a spoiled tuxedo cat named Teo.
What could you talk about for hours?
I’m a total true crime fanatic and just find murder mysteries so interesting. I think I’ve watched every true crime documentary on Netflix at this point and I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts. I love talking to other people who are familiar with the same cases and getting their takes on if they think the accused is innocent or not.
What hobbies do you enjoy when you’re not working?
Rock climbing is probably my biggest hobby. I just recently went climbing outdoors for the first time in Puerto Rico. It was a really fun experience and I hope to do a lot more outdoor climbing in the future! I also really love to go camping and canoeing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
Corrective lenses.😜
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world (real, fictional- dead or alive), who would you choose and why?
Albus Dumbledore because how could you have anything less than a fantastic dinner when you’re hanging out with the greatest wizard who ever lived?
How would you describe your “perfect day”?
On my perfect day, I’d wake up in my tent to the birds chirping and have bagels toasted on the fire for breakfast. I would spend the day out kayaking or canoeing, hiking, or climbing in the woods and then hanging out by the fire at night and roasting marshmallows.
