We are thrilled to welcome our newest team member to the Twenty Over Ten family! Our Meet the Team series showcases the awesome people that make doing our work so enjoyable. With so many moving parts day in and day out, it takes a lot to keep things running smoothly. We’re grateful to have a team that is excited to take on anything!
Recently, we got to catch up with Laura Muensterer, our newest digital copywriter. As part of the Twenty Over Ten copywriting team, Laura interviews our clients, writes content for their site, and ensures the messaging aligns with their overall mission, vision, and personality. Keep reading to get to know her better!
What drew you to Twenty Over Ten?
Coming from an agency background, I love that I get to work with someone new practically every day. While many financial advisors provide similar services, everyone has a different reason for why they do what they do, as well as how they do it.
Everyone at Twenty Over Ten works as a team — I never feel closed off or separate from the rest of the group. Even though we all work from different places, we’re all passionate about producing a product that our clients can be proud of.
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I was born in Munich, Germany, but only lived there until I was about 3-years-old. We then moved to Maryland (Columbia first then Clarksville) before coming to Texas in 2004.
I’ve lived in quite a few cities here in Texas — Southlake, Denton, Abilene and now Irving. I love the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex because every city has a unique feel, as well as different types of restaurants and things to do.
What is the best gift you’ve ever received?
When I was about to start 9th grade, my parents bought me a trip to China with an organization called People to People. Our team from Texas met up with groups from Florida and California and visited several cities in China for three weeks.
I learned so much while I was there and made many lifelong friends. To this day it is one of my favorite memories and I hope to one day visit again!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably sushi — one of my all-time favorite foods. I usually get a California Roll, Philadelphia Roll or Rainbow Roll.
Any pets in your life?
I have two tabby cats — a boy and a girl — named Beau and Bella. They are the apple of my eye (even though they drive me nuts sometimes!)
How do you like to unwind after a busy day?
Usually, I like to cook some dinner, have a glass of wine and watch a good show. My boyfriend is an account manager at a software company so it’s always fun to share stories about our day since our jobs can be similar at times.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work? What do you like to do on the weekends?
I’ve recently begun fostering for a few local shelters, which has been really fun! I’ve fostered three dogs so far and plan to foster many more in the future.
Besides that, I like to read, go to EDM shows with friends, check out the latest restaurant (Dallas always has something in the works), go to Deep Ellum for some drinks and spend time with my parents who live only about 20 minutes away from me.
What is your favorite holiday and why? Any cool holiday traditions?
My favorite holiday is Halloween, and I think it’s because I always loved playing dress up as a kid. I don’t really have any unusual holiday traditions, but I do like to go to some kind of music festival around October!
What’s the best part about working at Twenty Over Ten so far?
Seeing the copy I wrote come to life — the designers here do an amazing job at taking what I wrote and turning it into a beautiful visual representation of our clients’ firms.
