That was simple enough, and now it’s time for the fun part! Enjoying your trial and starting to build your website. Here are the key steps to do this.
Key Steps to Creating your Website:
Step 1: Choose a Framework
First things first, you need to pick a framework for your website. What is a framework you might ask? Well, it’s basically the “shell” of your website. It’s a package that is made up of a structure of files and code that can be used to support a website.
Something to take note is that all of our frameworks are created with a mobile-first approach, which means that no matter what device your website is viewed on, it will still look great! That’s such a plus considering how many people have smartphones and are probably viewing your site while “on the go.”
Also, content is king! So, all of our frameworks have built-in blogging platforms so you can create, edit and share updates with site visitors as often as you’d like! What better way to attract new visitors to your website then by creating awesome content to draw them in.
What works best for your site you might ask? Luckily, we have descriptions for each that tells why one website may work better for your company than another one. You can pick from one of our 5 amazing frameworks, each one is designed in-house by our amazing design team. Each framework is completely responsive and gives your site a unique and polished look. For example, if you want a large homepage image on your website, then our Fresnel framework is a great option. It’s bold and draws the visitor in immediately upon reaching the site. It’s perfect for featuring full-width imagery, with room for the image at the top with the information below the fold. The easy to use navigation system comes with subpages for additional content if you want!
There is also the option to view a live demo of each framework so you can see how a client would experience your site before you choose which framework to use. Even after you pick one, you can change your mind at any time during the design process without losing your content and color scheme! Step 2: Upload Your Logo
That wasn’t too hard, was it? After you choose your framework, you will visit our in-line editor, which provides a basic site outline allowing you to go through and simply edit yourself. This next step is extremely important, as this is something that is the most recognizable part of your firm. That is the logo!
As the most recognizable part of your firm, your logo is a huge factor in choosing color schemes and adding images, so it is important to upload this first.
To do this, simply click on “Site Settings” then “Logo & Title.” From there, you can add any text or image that you want to appear on your site. Depending on what framework you choose, it will appear on the screen.
Step 3: Choose Your Color Palette
This step seems easy, but choosing a color palette can actually be a big challenge for a “DIYer.” You need to ensure that you are staying “on-brand” and once you pick the colors, let your team know which ones can be used in the logo, emails templates, any parts of the website, etc.
Even the slightest variance can disrupt the page and make your website have much less of a “uniform” feel. It’s important to show professionalism in every aspect of your page.
Often times, you’ll already have a good idea of what you want your firm’s colors to be based on your logo. Even if you don’t, on our platform you have a full range of colors to choose from for every aspect of your site. Just go to the “Colors” section in “Site Settings” and pick out the colors that you want to use!
Another great thing about having our trial period is that you can play around with different combinations for backgrounds, headlines, accents, text and links for all of your pages. It’s an important job, but it’s fun to collaborate and help this come together for your team on your path to create the perfect website!
Step 4: Add Your Content
Next up is a very crucial step, and that is adding your content. During this process, we can assist you if you need help producing your content, or you may already have it written out. Regardless, our platform makes it very simple to add in, and people will definitely know what your firm does upon visiting your site.
Creating the content may be the difficult part, but once it is created, then it is so simple! All that you have to do to is insert your text by clicking directly on the screen preview and editing it. You can put images, video or audio you want to include in the uploads library.

Once clicked a box will appear where the URL for a Youtube or Vimeo video can be linked. As long as your video is uploaded to either popular video hosting services you can simply add the URL to insert your video.

You can also edit your page names, URLs, browser titles, and meta descriptions for each individual page if you click on the page settings or gear icon in the toolbar on the left. We recommend putting your social on your page too, and you can even edit that!
Step 5: Connect Your DNS
Once you have your logo, color scheme, content and images all in place and you’re liking how your website looks, then it’s time to connect your Domain Name System (DNS)! Once you connect this, then it shows your website live! Check with your domain provider to see if there are any settings that need to be edited before doing this. Once you have figured out any additional settings, all that you have to do is enter the full domain name in “Site Settings” under “Connected Domains” and save!
