We’re diving into another “Meet the Team” blog, and today we’re excited to speak with Lead Pilot Success & Support Specialist, Chemierra McNeil. She has been an incredible asset to Twenty Over Ten as she guides clients through the onboarding and training process while troubleshooting any issues that they may have.
From her positive attitude to sharing her delicious recipes, she is a great part of our team that makes working so much better. Read on to learn more about her!
Tell us more about where you are from and where you are living now. What’s your favorite part about where you live?
I am originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. However, I have lived in Georgia for the majority of my life. I consider myself “A Northern with Southern Charm” ☺️
Currently, I am living about 90 minutes away from Atlanta, Georgia. We love the rural, small-town feel of the current location. It is not that congested and there are outdoor spaces everywhere (fishing, hunting, trails, parks, etc). Most people are warm and friendly even with social measures enacted. It has been very pleasant to live here – like a hidden gem if you will.
You have a strong background as a SaaS specialist working with companies like Mailchimp and ClickDimensions. Tell us more about your experience and passions in this industry.
I enjoy the technical aspects of marketing automation, working with data, and developing solutions that thrill the customers. I am curious about digital marketing especially email marketing, SEO/SEM, and marketing analytics. I am learning web development in my spare time and may head back to school for a BS in Computer Science to learn more about computers, data.
You have been an integral part of our Lead Pilot success team. Let’s talk more about your role and stand-out success stories.
Along with the Lead Pilot team, I onboard clients and provide technical support related to the Lead Pilot platform.
What does a typical day look like for you? Do you have a routine or certain ways to stay motivated throughout the day, especially as we continue to social distance?
I was working remotely before social distancing rules were enacted, so I continued a similar routine. A typical day includes onboarding calls where we set up clients’ Lead Pilot account, answer questions from clients and team, update help articles, and get on any screen sharing calls that get scheduled. To keep from burning out, I chat with my team members, post silly gifs and emojis, ask random questions and read interesting industry news.
You’re stranded on a deserted island and can only bring three items with you. What items do you bring and why?
A helicopter, helicopter pad, and a pilot – no need to stay stranded (j/k).
Honestly, probably a book labeled “How to survive and get off a deserted island”, a kitty cat, and a machete/knife/ax to cut and saw at things. I would promptly make a fishing pole to fish, a shelter, a fire, something to keep from getting sunburned and keep a supply of clean water on standby. I would enjoy the peace and solace away from modern living.
Netflix and chill was a big mood with stay-at-home orders in 2020 and continuing into 2021. What are some of your favorite shows or movies that you’ve watched recently?
We have been watching Upload, finished Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, and the Crown. We revisited a lot of old favorites – Golden Girls, Rifleman, Little House on the Prairie, & The Waltons. To be honest, I mostly worked through my queues on LinkedIn Learning, YouTube, and FreeCodeCamp.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a librarian and zookeeper because of my two favorite places: Library and Zoo + Animal Shelters.
Sports, cooking, reading – what other hobbies are you drawn to outside of work?
Reading, sketching, painting, coding, pet care, and homesteading projects.
If you could describe your perfect day, either at work or outside of work, what would it entail?
Outside of work, I would begin my day eating breakfast on our deck with the ocean in the background. We would jump into our pickup with paddleboards, fishing poles, coolers, sunscreen to head to our boat. Jessie would drive the boat to our honey hole. I would begin to fish and catch tasty seafood, while Jessie is checking his crab traps. After spending a day relaxing on the water, we head back. Start a cooking fire on the beach, then clean our catches, prep what we are going to eat, and ice the rest. Then we spend the evening on the beach, gazing at the stars, and talking (or not). Head back home once we are ready.
So far, what has been the most rewarding part about working at Twenty Over Ten?
All the friendly and interesting people I have worked with. I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with everyone.
