Austin Leaverton

We’re diving into another “Meet the Team” blog, and today we’re excited to speak with Client Support Specialist, Austin Leaverton. He has been an incredible asset to Twenty Over Ten as he helps clients fix their issues day in and day out to ensure that they have the smoothest experience possible. Austin is a great part of our team that makes working so much better, so keep reading on to learn more about him!

Let’s kick things off by learning more about your hometown and what you love most about where you live.

I live right outside of a military installation, Fort Leonard Wood aka Fort Lost In The Woods. It’s surrounded by a large portion of the Mark Twain National Forest so there is plenty of room to get out and explore.

As a part of our support team, you have the opportunity to communicate with clients and help people out on a daily basis. Can you tell us your favorite part about your job and do you have any stories about helping someone that has really stood out?

Being able to work with many different people and helping them from the smallest issue to more complex problems is rewarding. Even the smallest of tasks can seem overwhelming at times, especially if they are new to the platform, so it’s nice to be the person our customers lean on.

You come from a unique background being a web developer for the Army. That’s amazing and thank you for your service! Can you tell us more about this and some of the unique situations or challenges that you faced in that position?

That’s classified, just kidding. I worked in many different aspects from helicopter maintenance, to chemical training, and being a web developer.  Most recently I ran the SharePoint and public-facing websites for the CEHCs (Counter Explosives Hazards Center) Strategic Support Division. The biggest challenge was just trying to keep up and track the relevant data that pertained to our division, the information would change at a moment’s notice and ensuring that the correct person had the information at the right time was a job in and of itself.

With a lot of us still quarantining, the days can start to drag on. What routines have you established throughout the pandemic to stay productive?

I’m very much a home-bodied person, so it hasn’t changed much for me. I try to set a schedule so my workdays are almost the same as prior to the pandemic. When work is over I try to make sure I don’t get back on to handle other tasks, usually we take our kids on a walk or just outside to play.

We miss live music and can’t wait for shows to start again in the future. What is the first concert that you ever attended?

I actually have never been to a concert but if I could create my own it would be a mix of The Weeknd, Slipknot, and Luke Combs. I don’t have a preference when it comes to music, I really just enjoy it all.

We love our furry friends at Twenty Over Ten. Do you have any pets of your own?

I do, we have a big fluffy German Shepherd (Vara), two cats (Astro and Casper), and a dwarf rabbit (Luna).

We look forward to the day that we can safely travel again. What is the best trip that you have ever taken and why would you recommend it to others?

I was stationed in Virginia while I was in the Army and I really enjoyed every aspect of living there. Being so close to the Ocean was probably my favorite part of it, considering I’m landlocked now, but everything from the scenery to the people was just all-around enjoyable.

What is the best piece of advice that you have ever received?

Always do better. I strive every day to make myself better than the day prior, sometimes I fail but never without effort. I feel as though I’m a better person for it and I always find the good in other people.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Pizza because I can always make it taste like something else.

So far, what has been your favorite part about working at Twenty Over Ten?

Definitely the team. Everyone is welcoming and good at what they do, it’s like a well-oiled machine.
