Effectively utilizing social media for your business can seem like a daunting task with a lot of questions regarding best practices. At Twenty Over Ten, we pride ourselves on developing the best websites for financial advisors, but beyond that we also help financial advisers succeed on social media.  This post is dedicated to helping you effectively use these platforms by providing a little insight into the best times to post on social media.

The best times to post on social media vary from platform to platform.

FACEBOOK

When to Post:

According to a recent study by Sprout Social, they uncovered the best times to post on Facebook: 

– Thursday to be the most recommended day to post
– 1 p.m. on Thursday to be the most active time
– Relatively safe to post any day between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
– Early mornings and late nights are the least optimal posting times
– Wednesday through Sunday are the strongest days to post

When Not to Post:

The overall worst time to post on Facebook is any time before 8 AM and any time after 8 PM

TWITTER

When to Post:

The best times to post on Twitter are Monday through Thursday. Read below to learn more about when to post on Twitter, featuring information from Sprout Social

– Monday Through Thursday are the strongest days to post
– Thursday is the most recommended day to post in the week
– Noon on Thursday is the most active time in the week
– Safe to post any weekday between noon and 3 p.m.
– Early mornings and late nights are the least optimal posting times

LINKEDIN

When to Post:

The best times to post on LinkedIn are Tuesday through Thursday (especially Tuesday). Read on to learn more, featuring Sprout Social: 

– Tuesday through Thursday are the most recommended days to post
– Noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday are the most optimal times to post
– Least optimal posting times include every day from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
– Least optimal posting days include Saturday and Sunday
– Safe to post 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays

When Not to Post:

Mondays and Fridays have the lowest overall engagement rates on LinkedIn.

It is important to always keep your audience in mind.  In addition to varying from platform to platform, the best times to post can also vary from business to business depending on your target market.  Knowing this, the analytics that some of the platforms provide you with is key.  Facebook and Twitter provide users with a free analytics feature to view a variety of data regarding posts.  Looking at your specific data will help you to better know your audience and the best times for you to reach them with your posts.

Simply log into your account via Twitter’s Analytics page to view the analytics of your tweets via pages that will look similar to this:

To view the analytics of your Facebook posts, log into your account and go to your business’ page.  Click Insights and then click Reach to view a variety of data via pages that will look similar to this:
