We’re excited to talk to Hannah Herrera, a digital copywriter here at Twenty Over Ten! This is the latest installment of our Meet the Team series, where we show some appreciation for our amazing colleagues. 

In addition to generating other written content, Hannah works directly with clients to create a compelling copy that resonates with them. She has a passion for writing and catering content to a client’s needs. Hannah helps advisors’ websites reach their utmost potential, and we’re thankful she’s a part of our team. Read on to learn more about her!

To start, where are you from and where do you live now?

I’m originally from Wallingford, PA, and I now live in a small neighborhood in Philly—right next to the Wissahickon trails.

How did you get started with copywriting?

My first “real job” out of college was as an SEO content writer and editor for a company in Lancaster called WebstaurantStore.com. In this position, I wrote and edited blogs, articles and website content. The college I attended was a very writing-heavy school, so although I didn’t major in English or journalism, I felt prepared to enter into a writing position. I was later introduced to Twenty Over Ten through one of my current teammates, Rachel Jenkins, who I also worked with at WebstaurantStore.com! 

What’s a regular day at work like for you?

On a typical day, I’m usually creating site copy for our clients, researching and writing Content Assist articles, or speaking with new advisors. Plenty of drip coffee is consumed along the way.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?

I love staying active and spending time in nature through trail running, bike riding, or hiking. Reading is also a huge passion of mine, and I love a good crossword. I am also an artist! I paint acrylic landscapes and abstract pieces. You can see my art at hannahgabriela.com or @hannahgabriela.art.

What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?

I road tripped through Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Croatia with one of my greatest friends, Sam. Like me, he is also an avid runner, and we went on some incredibly beautiful runs. We also learned a lot about the history of Eastern Europe by visiting museums and talking with the locals. It was an adventure full of learning, fresh seafood, coastal hangouts & plenty of grappe!

We’ve heard you’re a music lover. What’s your favorite band of all time?

Beach House. Victoria Legrand has such a compelling and unique voice. Their music has a way of sounding so seamless with many peak moments that evoke strong emotions. Beach House also strives to remain down to earth and true to themselves—always making career decisions in alignment with who they are rather than for profit or fame.

If you got to read one book again for the first time, what would it be and why?

Just Kids by Patti Smith. I loved learning about her dynamic experiences in New York City and her journey as an artist and bold human. Her story and reflections inspired me to stick with my art and painting.

What’s an item on your bucket list you want to complete next?

I want to complete a running race in another country!

What’s your favorite part about working at TOT?

I enjoy getting to know what sets advisors apart and creating content that caters to this difference and their firm’s “personality.” It’s always fun seeing how the copy and design come together to create something that really expresses who they are, what they do and how they do it.
