For this month’s “Meet the Team” blog, we chatted with Customer Success Specialist, Sarah Ferris. When she isn’t teaching advisors more about our products so that they can get the most out of the platform, this foodie loves to cook, ride her bike and garden!

To learn more about Sarah and what she does in her free time, be sure to check out our latest “Meet the Team” blog.

To kick things off, where are you from and where do you live now?

I am originally from the Jersey Shore, it was a great place to grow up. Currently, I live in Attleboro, MA but my husband and I just bought a house in a small town in Maine.

What’s your favorite part about where you live now?

There are actually a ton of amazing things happening around here. I live close to Providence, RI which is a fantastic little city with a ton of great food and fun things to do, the beach is close and Boston is about an hour away. I can’t be bored here.

As a Customer Support Specialist, you work with advisors every day while offering them guidance, strategies and best practices on how to use our platforms. What is your favorite part about this role?

Of course, I love being able to solve a problem for someone but my biggest joy is just getting to know people and what brought them to the product.

What are some hobbies that you really enjoy outside of work?

I absolutely love food so I cook and bake a lot. I knit and have sometimes been known to dabble with embroidery, macrame and am learning how to crochet. Since buying a house I have begun learning about gardening. I also love going on a long bike ride!

What’s a “typical” workday look like for you? This can obviously change day to day, but we’d love to hear how your day generally goes.

I start my day with a big cup of coffee and a book. Once the workday begins I start by checking email, slack and the chat where clients communicate with us. My day usually consists of helping out our clients and onboarding calls and some days I have meetings with my team or dei committee.

What was the first job that you ever had? And what was your childhood dream job?

The first job I ever had was at a deli but the first job I really remember dreaming of being an ice cream scooper. I thought it would be a lot of fun to serve people ice cream, and of course, eat as much as I wanted.

If you could have dinner with three famous people, who would they be and why?

Nina Simone is one of my favorite musicians. She seemed to be a strong and powerful force when it came to music and activism

Anthony Bourdain, of course, had a huge well of knowledge when it came to food, travel and cooking. When I was in high school I would watch him on tv, watching him talk with locals and going to small unknown restaurants really inspired the way I travel.

Betty White is one of the funniest people and she had such a long and interesting life and career I bet I could have talked to her for hours.

What’s the most memorable trip that you have ever taken? And do you have any upcoming travel plans in the near future?

A couple of years ago my husband and I went on a camping and bike trip on the C&O Canal Towpath. It’s a bike trail that starts in Washington D.C and then cuts into Maryland and West Virginia and eventually combines with another trail to bring you to Pittsburgh. It was so much fun to be outside for a couple of days and do something I love and we got to meet some really cool people.

We love our furry friends at Twenty Over Ten, and always love to see pictures of them. Do you have any and if so, what kind and what are their names?

I have the best cat in the world. He is an exotic shorthair and his name is Kepler, named for the astronomer. We adopted him from a friend of a friend when he was one and life has been all uphill since.
