Justin Adams

For this month’s “Meet the Team” blog, we chatted with Content Marketing Specialist, Justin Adams. This cat-loving foodie is an integral part of our team, as he helps create content that really shares what our brand is all about while connecting with our audience.

To learn more about Justin and what he does in his free time, be sure to check out our latest “Meet the Team” blog.

To start, where are you from and where do you live now?

I’m originally from Morgan Hill, California and currently live in Bradenton, Florida.

What does a “typical day” look like for you at work? Do you have any routines that help you stay motivated while working from home?

A typical day is usually just checking my calendar, slack or ClickUp for assignments and updates. Then I get to work. I like to take breaks every so often to find one of my cats around the house and play with them for maybe 5 minutes. Sometimes I’ll lay down with them or they’ll follow me back to my room where I work and sit with me.

As a Content Marketing Specialist, you create awesome content that is incredibly informative and engaging. What is your favorite part about this role? And how did you get your start in this industry?

I think my favorite part of creating content is being able to add my own flair. It’s also really nice to know my topics beforehand so I can prepare and find sources or interesting examples. This was actually my start in the industry. I had done internships that involved content marketing and creation but not to this degree.

Describe your perfect day, either at work or outside of work.

My perfect day would have to be waking up at a decent hour, working out, then relaxing until lunch. Getting something tasty like sushi and then meeting up with friends. After that, I would like to get a good workout in and then unwind for the rest of the day either playing instruments or video games.

You’re definitely a jack of all trades and we know that you love cooking! What are some of your favorite dishes to prepare?

Lately, I’ve been really into Asian dishes. Korean fried chicken is something I just recently made and it came out really spicy which is great. I also really like the ginger mushroom stir fry I make. I’ve been trying to perfect that Chinese restaurant texture and I’m getting close.

If you could only have three apps on your phone, which ones would they be and why?

Snapchat, Gmail and Reddit. Mostly because Snapchat is the only social media platform that I really use on a daily basis and Gmail is just so I can keep up with emails. I don’t use Reddit too often, but it is nice to just spend 20 minutes looking at random things.

What’s the most memorable trip that you have ever taken? And do you have any upcoming travel plans in the near future?

The most memorable trip I’ve taken was when I went to Italy with my family on a cruise. I was around 8 years old but I remember that we fed pigeons in a square. I only remember this because one landed on my Grandma and she peed herself, while another took a poop on my cousin.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are the three things you would want to have with you?

I would want a swiss army knife, shelter and a magical genie that can grant all my wishes, but without those Monkey Paw side effects.

We love our furry friends at Twenty Over Ten, and always love to see pictures of them. Can you tell us more about your cats and share some photos?

I currently have 3 cats, ages 14, 4 and 1 ½. Their names are Zoro, Gracie and Chester respectively. Zoro is a lazy bum who just sits on his butt all day, Gracie tries to be active but is still a cat so she’s lazy too, and Chester tries to attack them all day because he is indeed not a lazy bum.

You have only been here for a short time and are already such an important part of the Twenty Over Ten team! So, what’s been your favorite part about working here so far?

I think my favorite part of working here so far has been the freedom I’ve been given along with the people I’ve worked with. Stories of offices made me worry about things such as micromanaging or hostile workplaces, but it’s been nothing but wonderful so far. I feel like my co-workers respect me and trust me to get my work done without having to micromanage everything I do.
