Mark-Bare-at Golden Pine Advisory

Here at Twenty Over Ten, our clients make up who we are. Every couple of weeks we like to hear from our clients to showcase their financial advisory business and their new website. We recently worked with Golden Pine Advisory and loved being part of their new journey, creating a website and branding for their newly launched firm.

Our team‘s favorite part of projects always comes down to working with our clients and we couldn’t have enjoyed working with Mark Bare more. As founder of Golden Pine Advisory, Mark leads this firm with a core focus on tailored experiences and financial plans that are as unique as each client’s needs. This North Carolina based firm specializes in making the financial planning and investment process simple, transparent, and efficient for clients. Take a look at what we learned in this Q&A:

Deciding to open your own practice is no easy feat. What made you take the leap?

Establishing my own firm has always been a goal of mine and after spending several years performing due diligence on the best strategic partners, technology and processes I knew the time was right. I founded Golden Pine Advisory with the vision of transforming the financial planning process to a smarter, simpler and more efficient system. I chose to shift the focus of my firm away from the product sales approach that is commonly found in the industry and instead placed a focus on providing a client-friendly process with custom tailored financial plans, fee-only advice and at a more affordable cost.

What one word would you use to describe your work?

Impactful.

You worked with the Twenty Over Ten team on multiple brand assets from logo and website design to copywriting and social media. Tell us about the process and why you choose to amplify your marketing efforts for your new firm.

Twenty Over Ten has a tested and proven process that begins on day one. They take the time to listen to your story and understand the brand and vision of your firm. After assessing the goals and expectations of the client, the magic really begins to happen and your brand gets developed right before your eyes. At Golden Pine Advisory, I wanted to have a cohesive marketing strategy between the different platforms and also one that was professional and really told the story about our firm and how we are unique. The team at Twenty Over Ten captured these elements perfectly and have helped me better tell the Golden Pine Advisory story to the world.

Company logos are the foundation of any brand. Tell us about the logo design process and your vision for marketing your new firm?

During the brainstorming phase of developing Golden Pine Advisory, I knew that I wanted to have a pine tree featured in the logo. My wife Jordan, who is the artist in the family, sketched out a few ideas that helped me better describe my vision and goals to Twenty Over Ten. Including the golden pine tree in the logo was important because not only is it in our firm name, but it also represents how we are unique. Our marketing plan moving forward will be focused on social media and networking.

What is your favorite part of your new website and why?

My favorite part of the new website is how easy it is to manage and add content plus how responsive the website is to any browser / device. As mobile viewers continue to increase, it is more important than ever to have a website that looks equally as good on a desktop, laptop, tablet and phone.

What future marketing plans do you have to build on your new digital presence?

As soon as I have transitioned over my clients, two initial goals at Golden Pine Advisory are to incorporate the blog with weekly updates and video blogs with monthly updates. These are two areas I believe will help us reach our target audience and further expand our reach to provide the best financial planning process.

If you could give one piece of marketing advice to other advisors just starting out what would it be?

Given the demands of starting a new firm, unless marketing and technology are one of your core competencies, I highly recommend expanding your team with experts who excel in these areas. Consider it an investment in your new firm, but one that will pay for itself over and over again. Additionally, it will give your marketing efforts a professional feel and also give you time back in the day to focus on the other areas of starting a new firm and client acquisition. My due diligence led me to Twenty Over Ten and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about expanding their digital footprint. Twenty Over Ten is a unique company with some of best marketing and technology talent I have seen. They make you, the client, feel like family and provide an efficient process from start to finish.
