10 Holiday Gift Ideas To Send Your Clients Featured Image

It always seems to come so quickly, but the holiday season is already upon us! It’s a fun time of year, but also busy and can get stressful. Outside of all the holiday hustle and bustle, what are some ways that you have expressed your thanks to clients for the great year? We recently took to Twitter and saw some great ideas, we really wanted to share. There were so many options, but these ten really stood out to us.

We got the idea from this awesome Twitter thread started by Ryan Hughes, Financial Advisor and Founder of Bull Oak Capital after he asked for help thinking of holiday gift ideas.

Ten Great Gift Ideas for Clients

Stumped as to what you get your clients? These advisors have got some awesome ideas that are original and not only give back to clients but also give back to others in the spirit of the holidays. If you are having a hard time figuring out what to get, then these ideas should help your creativity take off! Enjoy. 🎁

1. Local Ice Cream Treats and Cards

Larry Sprung, CFP®, President & Founder of Mitlin Financial likes to send his gifts out around the Thanksgiving holiday since it will arrive earlier and the wording fits the time frame.

Sending sweet treats is such a good idea because it’s something that many people don’t do. You often see the goodie baskets, cookies, popcorn tins, etc. but sending ice cream will definitely stand out!

Like this idea? These may not be local, but here are the top 10 best mail-order gourmet ice creams of 2019 that will satisfy any of your clients’ ice cream craving.

2. Personalized Gifts from Things Remembered

Jeff Levine, CPA/PFS, CFP® of BluePrint Wealth Alliance has done a lot of gifts from Things Remembered to make it customized with a client’s family name.

They said the feedback was very positive from clients when they got a picture frame, so that’s something to keep in mind. It’s important to not include a company logo as Jeff mentions in the tweet, as this is not the time to market, but celebrate the holidays and thank your clients for a great year.

3. Donate To Charities on the Clients’ Behalf

The holidays are a great time to give back to those that are less fortunate, so donating to a local charity on behalf of your clients is a great idea.

Ellen Chang twitter

Ellen Chang, a journalist for US News, lists out numerous charities to donate to in case you or your clients are looking for a particular place to donate.

We love this idea, as it’s always great to give back to others, but this becomes especially true during the holiday season. This charity navigator can allow you to easily type in charities that you are interested in donating to get more details, location and any other facts that you may want to know before donating.

4. Pies at Thanksgiving With Leftovers for Charity

Jonathan P. Bednar, II, CFP® of Paradigm Wealth Partners knows that food is the way to someone’s heart, but you know what is even better? The leftover pies go to charity and help feed people with a little something extra over the holidays.

Giving back as a company is a great way to help those that are less fortunate while also giving a kind gesture to clients. Who doesn’t love a delicious pie during the holidays? If this is something that you liked, then check out this site for sending homemade pies.

5. Online Store With 3 Tiers of Gifts

This idea is something new as if gives clients a fun way to shop for gifts based on their tier level. It’s something that you don’t see a lot and allows clients to choose from a variety of gifts.

Justin Brammer twitter

Justin Brammer, Personal CFO at Jarred Bunch Consulting, LLC explains how this works, with a store credit, how it can quickly and simply be done online, and it’s just something different that can be a lot of fun and clients can choose what they really want!

6. Serve as a Silver Santa for Nursing Homes

Ellen Chang has yes another wonderful idea for a gift that also gives back to others. She has served as a Silver Santa for many years, and it’s such a simple idea but one that can make a huge difference in the lives of senior citizens.

The requests may seem simple, but they bring so much joy to these senior citizens who may not have a lot of these basic things. Interested in getting involved with a Silver Santa program? Check out this link here!

7. Different Types of Champagne Each Year

Champagne is always a fun idea and it’s a drink that really gets people in the holiday and celebratory spirit. Jorge A. Romero, CFP®, Senior Wealth Advisor at Carson Wealth likes to send champagne to his clients every year, and this year it is Veuve Clicquot.

Jorje Romero

What we really love about this idea is the different package casing. Since most of these clients are engineers the pencil theme is a cute idea and makes the gift much more personal.

Veuve Clicquot never fails to impress, especially with the fun packaging for the 2019 collection. If you would like to see more of their products, you can find them on their website! This gift would be sure to impress your clients!

8. Wreaths

Wreaths are a great “go-to” gift and one where you can’t really go wrong. Based on the feedback from Jeff Smith’s clients, they seem to be a hit as the feedback is great, and he has been sending them for the past seven years.

Jeff Smith Twitter

The fact that they arrive the week of Thanksgiving is perfect timing so that people can start to decorate for Christmas and have the wreaths up for the entire month of December. If you happen to be hosting Thanksgiving, then having a nice wreath on your door is perfect for greeting your friends and family.

With beautiful wreaths and centerpieces, Harry & David never disappoints. If you would like to send wreaths, then this is a great option!

9. Tommy Bahama’s Holiday Decor Collection

Tommy Bahama always has fun ideas and the holiday decor is definitely a fan favorite! Founder and President of Fairpoint Wealth Management, Matthew Kircher, did these great evergreen holiday candles for his clients.

Matt Kircher Twitter

As he mentions, these are perfect for his Florida/Snowbird clients, with the cute “Christmasy” dogs on the surfboards and skateboards. Keeping it light and fun, but still in the holiday spirit is always a good “go-to.” The evergreen scent of the candles is sure to get anyone in the holiday spirit, no matter where they are located.

10. Family Pictures in the Christmas Cards

We’ve discussed before in other blog posts how personalization is a great way to connect with clients. People love knowing what’s going on with the people that they work with and showing clients, pets, family members through the years is a great way to pull at the heartstrings and connect with others.

Graham Miller Twitter

Graham S. Miller, CFP® and financial advisor at Wiegand Financial Group has never sent gifts to clients but has received a lot of positive feedback from sending pictures of kids and pets to his clients.
