Teamwork is at the heart of all that we do here at Twenty Over Ten and it’s essential for every project we take on. We enjoy helping you get to know the talented team that sits on the other side of the screen in our meet the team series.
This week I enjoyed learning more about Mike Peters. As a designer and developer, he works directly with our clients to create beautifully designed websites. His main goal in working with financial advisors and broker dealers is to ensure that the user’s experience is as intuitive and attractive as possible. Read on to learn more about Mike:
Where is home?
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA.
If you could take a vacation anywhere, where would you go? (and why)
There are a lot of places I’d love to travel to – I’ve never been outside the US, or even away from the East Coast! One of the places I want to visit is Thailand. My girlfriend was born there and has family that still lives there. I’m even working on learning Thai. I’m getting pretty fluent, if I do say so myself.
What excites you most about Twenty Over Ten?
I’ve always found it very satisfying to take a nebulous idea or problem and turn it into concrete product that our clients can find value in. There is nothing more enjoyable than meeting the needs of our clients, and even surprising them with features they didn’t know they needed.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Technology is moving faster and faster so continuing to design and always improving my skillset is my plan for the future.
What are you most proud of? (and why)
Being able to watch a design evolve from essentially nothing to a final product is what I’m proud of most.
How do you stay inspired?
Keeping up with the latest design trends, listening to podcasts, taking a walk outside and enjoying nature helps me stay focused and inspired.
Do you have any daily rituals or routines?
Each day presents a new challenge but everyday starts with coffee.
What does a perfect day look like to you?
When you get to come to work and do what you love, as a designer there’s not much else you can ask for.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend most of my free time either working on art or reliving my childhood by skateboarding with my friends. I’ve been going strong for 18 years and hopefully have another 18 more left in me.
What is your favorite book or movie? (and why)
My favorite book is Grist for the Mill by Ram Dass. This is an absolute must read for anyone interested in life and has definitely helped me understand what “it” is all about. When you feel out of balance, pick up his book and you will find just what you are needing.
